As a Pennsylvania native, Kolber received her graduate education from the University of Miami. Kolber began her career working at CBS Sports New York City in the position of video coordinator. She was awarded an Sports Emmy in Miami during her time as a reporter at WTVJ-TV. Also, she worked for WPLG-TV Miami and WPEC-TV West Palm Beach in Florida. She was selected to anchor ESPN2 in 1993. Her employment at ESPN2 ran for three years. Then she moved to Fox Sports. She was hired in 1999 by ESPN to host "Monday Night Countdown.
